Imperial Trellis Wallpaper Round-Up

While some have declared the imperial trellis trend over, there are others (myself included) who consider it a new classic that's here to stay.

I started collecting trellis wallpaper images in different colorways for a client who was considering it for her dining room.  We've gone in a different direction, but I thought I'd put the collection out there regardless!

What's your favorite colorway?

20x200 on OKL

Have you discovered 20x200 yet for original and affordable artwork?  This site has a rotating offering of unique pieces for sale for as little as $20 and as much as $5000.

I love the photographs in particular.  Check out these cuties - they must have gotten all raisins in their treat bags from the look on their faces...

Some other favorites...

I'm tempted to pick up this piece, based on a map of New York City, for my living room.  The colors would work perfectly.

And some other colorful offerings:

And for the next few days, you can purchase a $100 gift certificate for $59 on One Kings Lane!

Pagoda Lamp Love

Remember this shot of Jamie Meares' pantry/bar from a few days ago?

One of my favorite elements here is the pair of dainty pagoda lamps flanking the bar.  I had in fact just received my own petite pagoda lamp, from etsy seller Spruce Home.  It's brightening up a dark spot in the corner of my kitchen.

Like the look?  There are some beautiful pagoda table lamps available for purchase out there!

Lilly Pulitzer Furniture Collection

Prepping for an upcoming warm weather vacation has me busting out the Lilly, and other bright and colorful pieces from my closet.  Doing so reminded me of the preview images I'd seen of Lilly Pulitzer's furniture collection on the blogs this fall.  The 200 piece furniture line debuted at the fall International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, N.C., and will be available for purchase this spring/summer.

I think the lines looks really promising.  While some of the florals are a bit much for me, I especially love the faux bamboo pieces and bright zebra rugs (of course).  What do you think?

Yes, that's right - a storage ottoman that houses all the shoes that can't fit in your closet!

Chalking It Up

I've been struggling with what to do with the blank wall across from this sitting area in the abandoned bedroom of one of my twins...

And then I saw these adorable chalkboard decals hit the Gilt Home sale a couple of weeks ago...

My girls were so excited to give them a try when they got home from Kindergarten yesterday...

If you're looking for something similar, check out etsy seller The Vinyl Chalkbord.
Have a great weekend!

White vs. Ivory

When I ordered the linen sheers for my bedroom (a must since my neighbors family room window over looks our bedroom window), I selected ivory thinking that white was going to be too harsh.  And then I brought my curtains home and hung them up and YUCK!  It is subtle in the images, but in person it was unbearable. The ivory looked so dirty and yellow, I just couldn't stand it.  I was agitated every time I walked into my room. So much for a peaceful nights sleep!  My husband still doesn't quite understand it, but the ivory linen sheers had to go and white ones were ordered ASAP!

Here are the ivory sheers:

Ivory compared to my new white bedding:

And here are the white sheers:  Ahhhh so much better!

This all goes back to the bottom line -you must compare colors to one another.  In one instance the colors will look fine, but add another element or color, or different lighting, and it can throw things totally off whack.

If anyone needs 3 ivory linen sheers, email me - I'm anxious to get them out of my house!

And now I can get some rest in my serene bedroom :)

Sweet dreams!
